everything-by-brodan:

I’ve got for you some supercreepy stuff from our neighbour country Czech Republic. I was trying to translate it to English best how I can, so I hope you will understand this article. Your BroDan :)

Tschinkel’s Villa: Children‘s sanatorium with dark history

Nowdays, theres not very much from original glory and look of „Little Forrest Castle“, known as Children’s mental hospital, too. This villa from second half of 19th century is standing in middle of Dubí in north of Czech Republic and it has crumbled for 30 years.

History of Mental Hospital in Dubí started in year 1865. According to information from archives we can expect, that it was representative building of factory owner Anton Tschinkel, who was the maker of pottery and finder of climatic baths. Then a crisis came in eighties and he had bankruptcy, he lost all his fortune.

Archives are saying nothing about use of this villa to year 1923. During occupation this mental hospital serviced as school. After war there was hospital for children with tuberculosis. Children was in quarantine there, they couldn’t leave building and hospital’s gardens.

According to decisions of Department of Health this hospital was for TBC in first half of year 1957 rebuilt on Children’s Mental Hospital. (customizing of rooms, bricking in some doors, adding baths, wash basins)

In begin of ‘60s started using of hallucinogens (LSD) during psychotherapy.

Propagator of this cure was MUDr. Stanislav Grof, too. It is said, that becouse of big amount of LSD, he was giving his patients back to the times, when they were babies. Becouse of this they remembered the experience, which were blocked by their brain.

There was documented case of little girl, who’s mother was trying to drown her. In effect of LSD she remembered this situation and she was talking about fear from water and she started to act like baby.

In year 1983, area of hospital was described as deficient and expensive for keeping up. Patients were transported. Since this year the building is crumbling, and it was destroyed by boiler explosion, too.

The abandoned mental hospital in Dubí has strange, mystical spirit becouse of dark history. What was happening there with little patients? We don’t know. According to some information, they were using not only LSD, but the electroshocks, too. It is very possible, that doctors was trying to cure mental sickness with electricity.

What do you think about this place?
